What happens when you buy a new piece of equipment? You harry to open the box, explore its content. But the first thing you find when you open the box is "the manual". Carelessly, we all through it away, along with the fibre that surrounds the machine and... We plug the machine into the electricity and start the trial and error approach for figuring out its functionalities.
A great analogy I found today between this poor manual and the bibles we have in our hands:
1- The manufacturer of this machine put the manual the first thing in the bag as a sign to tell you "it is important for your safety and the safety of the machine that you read this manual before you start operating the machine!". And in the same way God tells us "you have to read this manual I give you called the bible before you operate".
2- We are usually so overwhelmed and anxious to explore the machine itself, so we through the manual away and start playing. Same urging interest to start exploring life ourselves, leaving behind these instructions, and ignoring to read them.
3- When do we get back to read the manual? When we smell the smoke coming out of the machine, OPPS! does this sound familiar?!
4- We prefer to ask a friend who read the manual or have a similar device, than reading the manual itself. We prefer to put it as "Godly Friend" or "Wise Man" instead :)
5- Without reading the manual, we miss a lot of other features the manufacturer provided in the machine in our hands. We never use such functionalities, simply because we are ignorant of the fact that the machine is capable of doing them! Same way we're living far beyound the expectations of God, just because we do not know what capabilites God placed in this humanbeing called "me".
