Look for it as for silver

"if you call out for insight

and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver

and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God. " (Proverbs 2:3-5)

As I was reading this, I wondered what does it take to find silver, and what is the process of "looking for silver". And here is what I came up with:

Do you know how they look for silver?
1- You have to look out for new places: If you're seeking silver, you have to look where noone else have looked (there would have already been a mine if it's in a place so obvious or commonly visited). Historically, silver mines were mostly found in the new world. So, seek new areas with God, seek new daily experiences. Ask him to take you to a place you've never been before with him each day. That's where you'll find the knowledge of God.

2- You have to dig deep: Silver is not found on the surface of the earth. You do not expect youself to stumple by a chunck of silver as you're hanging around in a garden! Mines have to be digged. And it's not an easy task. Do not expect to find the knowledge of God as you're wandering around. Dig deep. Dig at the word of God you read...

3- You have to purify it from other ores mixed with it: Silver is found in native form very rarely as nuggets, but more usually combined with sulfur, arsenic, antimony, or chlorine and in various ores. It has to pass by a series of steps to have it pure. In the same way, God's word might be mixed with other normal stuff that makes it unvisible. He might be talking to you through your daily activities. He might be teaching you through events in your day-to-day life. To extract God's message out of this too much stuff happening in your life is like extracting silver from these other mixed ores :)

Lord,
Teach me more day after day... your amazing and marvelous way
Teach me to seek the knowledge of God...
and to look for it as for sliver or Gold....

Amen
