Have you wondered "Am I pleasing God?"
Have you ever bothered to ask yourself this question to begin with?
If pleasing God is something you wonder about, then you'll find this note interesting :)
Paul in Romans 8 says:
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God." (Romans 8: 5-8)
So, Paul says you're one of two categories of people:
1) Sin-Controlled 2)Spirit-Controlled
and simply stated, those who are controlled by the sinful nature, cannot please God!
Ok, how to know in which category you fall? look at the characteristics of each category.
1)Sin-Controlled:
- Have your min set on what the sinful nature of humankind desires (eat?drink?money?sex?work?)
- Results in death
- Does not sumbit to God's law, it CANNOT do so!
- Cannot please God
2)Spirit-Controlled
- Have their minds set on what the Spirit desires (salvation of people? service of others? worship?)
- Results in life and peace.
- Pleases God :)
